This was a great introduction to emergency management! I was assigned this book for one of my Master's courses, and I was thoroughly impressed with it (unlike some of the other required readings). This book really does a great job of breaking down the important concepts of Emergency Management.As a student, one of the most beneficial chapters was Chapter 14 - Professional Accountability. The information in that chapter such as Certification Programs in EM and Academic Programs in EM were, and will continue to be, great resources for me as I embark on a career in Homeland Security and Emergency Management...and I would say that this information would be beneficial for others, as well!
I won't say I love it since it's a textbook but I do love the low price. Way better than my school's bookstore.
This was a required reading for an emergency management class I was taking for school (to be a teacher). The class was fairly difficult and not as interesting as I expected, thus I gave the book a 4 stars because it was a lot of detail and we didn't use a lot of it.
Received package in a timely matter and is a very good book on Emergency Management, Homeland Security & First Responders Handbook and is excellent to use in getting your Degree in Emergency Management -FEMA Certifications.
This was a well written book that covered everything you need to know about managing emergencies for the community. He did enjoy the class and said the book was well written.
Good Book for school
Came in perfect condition, couldn't ask for more.
It was a textbook and read accordingly. As I live on Long Island and am part of an EM group, it filled in a lot of the gaps in my knowledge of the upper echelon. I'd recommend it to those starting to actively work in an EM group.
