I took this book on a safari to Tanzania in January. I was with a tour so didn't need a book with restaurant and lodging advice although I did take one of those too just for additional info specific to the area we were. I eventually just gave the other book away as this book had everything I wanted and needed. It had a list and pictures of all of the animals and fauna. It also has a section for journaling and an area for how to prep for the trip as well as general info that other travel books have. I loved this book and took it with me every day we went out. Everybody else also asked to see it as well. I would highly recommend this book.
This book has artists rendition of the animal and birds but very well done. The description and details of each is very good. Love having the space to journal and document my trip each day. Having a check list was very helpful as well. The miscellaneous information and all the maps are also very good.
I used the older edition on my last trip to Africa and am going back with this new wonderful book in my hand.
The book provides detailed descriptions of the animals that one can expect to see on safari.
This is the only guide we recommend for our hosted safaris. It has great color photos and descriptions of all the animals and most of the common African birds. Interesting maps. I only wish it had more blank pages for journal entries.
We used this book extensively while on Safari in Tanzania.
Covers many different subjects very effectively. Friends going on a safari 3 weeks after we get back want to use it as a resource, also.
Hard to rate the book- the kindle version was so terribly converted I just returned it for a refund.
